While I was in grad school I was in a studio class about rural architecture. One weekend a semester we all went up to Steamboat, Colorado and work with an owner of a ranch to design a building for him, and also catalog the buildings the owner had on site. This particular ranch was a gold mine of really cool stuff. The owner was a collector of sorts - basically anything and everything that caught his fancy he bought. Now he didn't really have a place to store all these items so most of them just sat out all over his land.
