Day 59 - February 28, 2010 - "Time Reflection"

This clock has a bit of history to it - I made it during 8th grade wood shop class and gave it to my Grandma as a Christmas present.  She put it on display above her fireplace for many many years.  When she passed away last year it was given back to me.  Now it resides over my fireplace.

Day 57 - February 26, 2010 -"Linn Cove Viaduct" - Revisit Friday #9

Made a visit to the Blue Ridge Parkway a few years back with my dad, and happened upon this spot just off the roadway - up a large rock - and through a bush that gave me some nice scratches.  But its a pretty view.

Day 56 - February 25, 2010 - "Sandlot"

Just barely beat the snow today for this shot.

Day 55 - February 24, 2010 - "Pay the Toll"

Trying out more techniques using HDR with other processes. Still trying to find my niche.

Day 54 - February 23, 2010 - "LoDo"

Another day, another picture in LoDo.  Been toying around again with HDR processing - then further processing until I get to the result I like.  So its not strict HDR technically.  

Day 53 - February 22, 2010 - "The Ginn Mill"

Local place thats nearby in LoDo.  Never seen the inside but the exterior signage is pretty cool.

Day 52 - February 21, 2010 - "Alien"

Supposedly these lights were inspired from a fighter plane ... I don't know about that.  They seem a bit more alien to me.

Day 50 - February 19, 2010 -"Aruba" - Revisit Friday #8

I really really really would like to go back here one day.  I was lucky enough to have family living in Aruba a few years back and also luck enough that we took a trip down there to visit and see the island.  Absolutely beautiful place, doubt I could ever get tired of it.  If I could figure out a way to sell coconuts on the beach and make a living at it ... I'd do it.


This picture was taken from the western tip of the island looking east.  While its not the prettiest photo I took on the entire trip for some reason its my favorite.

Day 49 - February 18, 2010 - "Iced"

A snowstorm hit Denver during rush hour today, forcing us to drive through it.  In reality the snow wasn't that bad, nothing stuck to the streets, it wasn't snowing hard, but that didn't stop people from driving like complete morons.  Caught this on the way into the house.

Day 48 - February 17, 2010 - "Old Fashioned"

Life keeps interrupting my ideas for this blog.  I'll have a great idea for something I want to shoot ... then life comes up and throws my plans for a loop.  We have a breakfast club at work and this is my contribution for tomorrow.  Thought they looked like the old fashioned cinnamon rolls I ate while growing up.

Day 47 - February 16, 2010 - "Too much time"

Spend way too much time in front of these things.  I'm shooting 0 today - frustrating day and this is all my fried brain could come up with after my first attempt at another stair trail shot failed miserably.

Day 46 - February 15, 2010 - "Accident"

Title says it all ... this picture is purely an accident, one of those random shots I didn't think would amount to anything ... and maybe it doesn't.  But it looked more interesting than the other shots I had taken for today.

Today's picture is a test for the future, trying out time lapse photography, now I just need a more interesting subject.

Day 43 - February 12, 2010 -"Z" - Revisit Friday #7

Something that rivals for one of my most favorite pictures.  This car is owned by a friend of mine - I've had the chance to see it progress over the years as he continuously made improvements to it, and had the chance to take pictures of it when I was just getting my feet wet again in photography.  This picture came out and ended up being a catalyst.  I still love to shoot these cars and I want to own another one, one of these days.

Day 42 - February 11, 2010 - "Safe...Out"

Gotta make due with a transformer box sometimes for a tripod.  This neon sign work is installed on an old building thats part of Coors Field.  Thought it would make for a neat long exposure photo.

Day 41 - February 10, 2010 - "Details"

Just one of those interesting yet overlooked details of a building facade.  Thousands of these little details all over downtown.

Day 40 - February 9, 2010 - "Books, Books, Books"

The day I'm able to afford a house is the day I create a room with wall to wall book cases and one of those rolling ladders to access the higher shelves, and just for the nerd/cool factor a hidden room behind the book cases, only accessible when you pull the correct book.

Day 39 - February 8, 2010 - "Snow Day"

Snow is nice when you don't need to go out in it.  Torqued my back so no going outside for me today.

Day 38 - February 7, 2010 - "Superbowl Sunday"

Cheap beer, nachos, and commercials ... oh and a football game too I guess.

"Does it have a hemi in it?"  Think these cars look fantastic and happened to run across one today.

Suffice to say ... I'm pretty obsessed with this building, I took pictures of it all during construction, and have taken hundreds of pictures of it since it was completed.  I'm a giant fan of Daniel Libeskind and deconstructivist architecture.

How can a club/bar thats closed ... has been closed for months ... and wont re-open, still have its neon sign plugged in and running?  Seems the spiders don't mind the light and have moved right in.

Day 32 - February 1, 2010 - "Stay in the lines"

Thanks to Kelly for today's suggestion - my brain was dead and had no clue what to do.  Appropriate subject today considering this is about the depth of my mental capacity, stay within the lines and its all good.
